Andy Hagedorn

Andy is a higher education compliance and operations consultant with more than 30 years of experience in financial aid and admissions. His career spans both institutional leadership and federal oversight, providing a comprehensive understanding of how policy, practice, and performance intersect in Title IV administration.

Before entering consulting, Andy served in director-level roles at private and proprietary colleges and universities, leading all aspects of student financial aid and admissions operations. He managed Title IV participation, verification, professional judgment, disbursement reconciliation, and compliance policy development while training teams to uphold accuracy, transparency, and student service. His institutional leadership emphasized operational efficiency and regulatory integrity across every stage of the financial aid cycle.

Most recently, Andy spent more than a decade with the U.S. Department of Education’s Office of Federal Student Aid, where he conducted institutional program reviews throughout the United States and abroad. In that role, he evaluated compliance with federal financial aid regulations, provided technical assistance to campus administrators, and collaborated with institutional leaders to resolve findings and strengthen internal controls. His work helped institutions build sustainable systems that met federal requirements while improving day-to-day operational performance.

Today, Andy draws on this dual perspective to help colleges and universities identify risk, streamline processes, and prepare for audits or program reviews. Known for his data-driven approach and clear communication style, he develops practical compliance strategies that deliver measurable results and long-term stability in financial aid operations.
